3.Discription
"1Nuo" grooved couplings and fittings provide a rigid or flexible pipe connection for fire protection systems with dependable seals over a range of internal pressure situations.
"1Nuo" also offers Short Pattern Products through 8" to meet all of your fire protection needs.
Quick and easy installation and durable material construction make these.
"1Nuo" couplings and fittings ideal for almost any fire protection application in both wet and dry systems. The coupling's housing is made from ductile iron conforming to ASTM-A536,Grade 65-45-12. They are UL/ULC Listed and FM Approved and range in size from 1 1/4" to 12".They are also offered with a pre-lubricated gasket.

Bolts and Nuts
Heat treated and electro galvanized bolts with oval neck, and heavy duty hexagon nuts.
Track head meet to the physical and chemical requirements of ASTM A-449 and physical requirements of ASTM A-183.
Rubber Gasket
Standard: Grade "E" EPDM (Color code: Green stripe)
Temperature range -30°F to +230°F (-34°C to +110°C). Recommended for cold and hot water service within the specified temperature range plus a variety of dilute acids, oil-free air and many chemical services. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR PETROLEUM SERVICES.
Optional: Grade "N" Nitrile NBR (Color code: Black stripe)
Temperature range -20°F to +180°F (-29°C to +82°C). Recommended for petroleum products, air with oil vapors, vegetable and mineral oils within the specified temperature range. Not recommended for hot water services over +150°F (+66°C) or for hot dry air over +140°F (+60°C).
Grade "S" Silicone (Color code: White stripe)
Temperature range -30°F to +350°F (-34 to +177°C). Recommended for dry heat, air without hydrocarbons to +350°F (+177°C) and certain chemical services. FIT products silicone gaskets are recommended for fire protection dry systems, all systems operating below 0°F (-18°C), plus dry heat, air without hydrocarbons, certain chemical services, and water to +160°F (71°C).

7.Installation Instruction for U-Bolt Mechanical Tee
1. Pipe Preparation
Clean the gasket sealing surface within 16mm of the hole and inspect the sealing surface visually for defects that may prevent proper sealing of the gasket. Don't drill the hole on weld line.
2. Remove burrs
Remove any burrs or slug before installation to protect the gasket and prevent leakage.
3. Gasket&Housing Installation
Insert the gasket into outlet housing properly. Align outlet housing over the pipe hole making sure that the locating collar is in the pipe hole.
4. Alignment
Attach the U-bolt from the other side and tighten the nuts.
5. Tighten nuts
Alternatively and evenly tighten the nuts to the specified bolt torque.
6. Installation complete
Caution
Proper torquing of bolts is required to obtain specified performance.
-Over torquing the bolts may result in damage to the bolt and/or casting which could result in pipe joint separation.
-Under Torquing the bolts may result in lower pressure retention capabilities, lower bend load capabilities, joint leakage and pipe joint separation. Pipe joint separation may result in significant property damage and serious injury.
